Abstract/Description
The Tudor & Stuart period of British history was a turbulent time politically, economically, and most certainly religiously. During this time period the state religion of England (soon to become Great Britain) will shift from Catholicism to Anglicanism and several Protestant denominations will be imported such as Presbyterianism, while others will begin independently through grassroots movements such as the Puritans and Baptist. Pointing to a flowering individualism in British religious thought at least for the among the average citizens
I am hoping to reveal through my poster the impact of these religious shifts on the British people and how the indecisiveness of the British monarchy overall in regards to religious ideas allowed for and even fueled the individualization of British Christianity.
