Abstract/Description

Sepsis is defined as “a systemic response typically to a serious usually localized infection (as of the abdomen or lungs) especially of bacterial origin (“Sepsis,” 2017, p. 1). Through proper education sepsis could be prevented or caught early. A variety of protocols and treatment measures, regarding sepsis, have been implemented into practice. Research has shown that when hospitals have specific protocols for identifying sepsis, mortality rate is reduced.
