The thesis discusses a collection of strategies for special educators and support staff in the self-contained classroom to ease current and prevent future angry and aggressive behavior for students with limited communication skills and significant cognitive deficits. It reviews methods for identifying potential triggers for escalating behavior, safely intervening in various settings, and preventing future occurrences of aggressive behavior
