This presentation will include an analysis of ergonomic issues at a poultry processing facility in Western Kentucky. Alex and Cameron, from the OSH 663 Applied Workplace Ergonomics course, visited the site to evaluate potential ergonomic risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders in trussing, material handling, and shoulder cutting using techniques such as the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment, Strain Index, and ergonomic checklists. An overview of the findings along with control recommendations for reducing ergonomic hazards will be presented.
