Abstract/Description

“New York City 2002 Ad Campaign focused on violence against women” and “the male perpetrators of domestic abuse.” The campaign sought to make women more aware of the options that they had to suffering abuse from male partners. The focus was posters on public transport and in hospitals where the victims might go for treatment. There were measurable results of the campaign. The campaign also pointed out to the male perpetrators that violence against women was a crime and that they might be arrested or incarcerated for such behavior. The campaign posted telephone numbers where the women could report abuse and seek help to their situation.
