Abstract/Description
Music Therapy is proven to have a positive effect in patients post-operatively. This not only includes their physical but their emotional and mental state as well. Music Therapy can provide a way to escape from the emotional stress that hospitals can bring and help patients cope with the lack of control they could feel from the situation they are in. It can can provide a sense of control of their emotions and anxiety. In the three research articles provided on the poster, there is evidence to prove the positive patient outcomes using this intervention in the post-op setting including decreased blood pressure and producing a soothing/calming effect.
