Abstract/Description

The purpose of this research paper was to explore evidence based practice guidelines that seek to identity ways to increase screening and awareness of the human immunodeficiency virus among the Latino population. The goal was to compile the latest strategies that aim to provide a more culturally competent approach to screening methods, and to explore why Hispanics/Latinos experience such high rates of HIV. While much more research is needed to be done in this area, technological advancements and a greater push for diversity in the healthcare setting are providing promising and hopeful outcomes on the path to improving disparities for HIV rates in Latino community.
