Abstract

This article covers the obesity epidemic in America. Childhood obesity and why it is a concern, along with the health complications, such as type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, and other diseases related to childhood obesity. This paper also reaches into the psychological standpoint of obesity in childhood. Obesity in America, and why there has been such an increase in the past decades in obese and overweight children and adults. This paper also covers what the physical and mental health complications can do to an adult. Also included is what experts say are the best ways to prevent obesity.
