Father Involvement ,Does it Matter?

Abstract

There is a serious epidemic effecting our children in America today. One of four children live with out a father in the home.No father involvement families is not only a social issue, but it effects criminal justice systems, teen pregnancies, suicide rates, behavioral and mental disorders, relationships, poverty and so many issues. Facts and Statistics show the damage it can do on the child, family and community. Facts also show how father's are just as important as mothers even though parenting practices differ. Research show that an involved father helps a child's physical, social emotional, and mental health and development and carries onto adulthood. There are many simple ways a father can be involved and reasons they chose not to be. Facts, statistics, and research shows father involvement does matter.
