The William Harold Riddle Collection contains various magazines and journals covering Broadway and Hollywood affairs from the late 1920s to the early 1950s. It was through these magazines that the young Riddle would find information to write to his favorite stars and learn more about them beyond their places on the screen. Many of the articles and magazines are dedicated to people Riddle met personally and admired—James Dean, Clark Gable, and Elvis Presley, to name a few.
