Abstract
Bob and Warren Allbritten were born and raised in Hazel, Kentucky. They discuss family and their childhood experiences. Warren describes his military service during the First World War I. Bob reflects upon his service during the Second World War. They mentioned their family farm, their days in school and the daily activities of young boys in rural western Kentucky. They both mention the flu epidemic of 1918. Bob recalls people not only having the flu, but the mumps, measles and whooping cough. Both have recollections of the family farm, where their father grew corn, tobacco and hay for their cattle and horses.
