May AI be a cause of social facilitation?
Abstract/Description
Previous research has examined social facilitation interactions with AI regarding idea evaluation (Siemon, 2023), Social facilitation resulting from interactions with AI-bot competitors (Anderson-Hanley et al., 2011), and has also shown how prior revolutions of technology have affected evaluation apprehension in humans. (Melchers et al., 2021) This study seeks to examine the extent to which social facilitation will be present in an interview session wherein the interviewer is an AI. This study will also examine the extent to which participants’ attitudes toward AI affect their perception of an AI interviewer as something human adjacent and seeks to find how this may relate to their overall evaluation apprehension.
