Abstract/Description

Central line infections are a nation wide problem that can be reduced
by adherence to proper institution guidelines. The utilization of
standardizing dressing changes, standardizing/educating nurses on
central line care, and using electrocardiograms to verify line
placement can reduce central line associated blood stream infections.
By educating nurses with this material, we can reduce central line
associated bloodstream infections and achieve better quality care for
our patients.
