Abstract/Description

This experiment will use MODIS or Landsat data will be collected to calculate GPP, NDVI and EVI for Hopkins county after the 2005 Tornado and 2009 Ice Storm, focusing on the growing seasons. These results will be compared to two non-disaster stricken years, one before 2005 and one in 2016 for control. Rainfall and temperatures for those growing seasons will be charted to examine if these fall far from the mean. The ultimate goal is see if either natural disaster heavily altered the growing seasons for that year or if the vegetation can recover within that time frame.
