This paper is an examination of the cultural impact of religious and scientific advances in the sixteenth century, using Michael Martin's "Literature and the Encounter with God In Post-Reformation England" as a foundation for the examination. This paper will include a broad summary review of the source material as well as evaluate reviews of the source material in order to provide informative context for the subject and time period in question.
