Abstract/Description

Evidence based research shows that the incidence of intimate partner violence is much higher than assumed—especially in the pregnant population. Statistics suggest that there is a lack of proper screening to identify these victims early in order to intervene and make proper community referrals before the situation worsens. The conclusion drawn from the review of research shows that a screening specific to intimate partner violence should be implemented universally with all pregnant women.
