Abstract/Description

As in most labor markets, women have an income penalty simply because they are a women. This is true in the artist's labor market, however, unique qualities about this market such as a permanent oversupply of artists, multiple job holdings, and a large amount of self-employed workers may change the income distribution. My research uses PUMS data to evaluate factors that affect income for artists specifically female artists.
