The Origins and Future Implications of Augmented Reality Technology
Abstract
Augmented reality has been ranked one of the top 10 most influential technologies of this decade. It is going to seep into all spheres of life and science such that it will change the way we see things in our daily life. Already, it has been integrated into entertainment, surgical models, architectural software and utilized in numerous other avenues. Our goal is to study how this technology came into being, how it is different from virtual reality and how it will help businesses improve their models, stay on top of their competition and make more capital along the way. Currently, our focus is on architecture as design. Construction and maintenance are some of the most difficult, costly and labor demanding processes. It is evident that this sector will get a boost beyond our imagination as architects, engineers and their clients will be able to get a beforehand 3-D image of what is about to be made.
