How Computer-Based Technology Affected the Educational Field Over the Past Three Decades
Abstract
Beginning in the 1980s and 1990s, computers and other computer-based technologies started to integrate into some levels of education. As time went on into the 2000s and 2010s, computer-based technology radically diversified and changed. During this same time schools were still integrating computers and other computer-based technologies into many levels within the field of education. However, at the same time opinions on computers and computer-based technologies began to form negatively on teachers, educators, parents, school districts, and governments. Many educators and other people believe that computer-based technologies do not benefit the field of education and actually hurt the education of their children and or students. This is a research paper that investigates what the positive effects that computer-based technology has on the field of education. This research paper does this by looking at the five different levels of education. Then for each level of education, discuses each type of computer-based technology and what the positive effects are on that level of education.
