Recidivism in Criminology
Abstract
Abstract
The act of Recidivism continues to be an ongoing issue across the country. This Research paper attempts to gather a framework and data analysis of why recidivism continues to be a problem. The report will examine the influences and factors that play a role in recidivism, along with gathering statistical rates on the recidivism rates and accessing the contributions when it comes to the treatments of an individual in and outside the prison system dealing with their mental health. These are all crucial factors as we continue expanding our research on why convicted individuals re-offend upon release. The Research paper is intended primarily for criminal justice researchers. However, the knowledge given about this issue can be addressed to any individual seeking to address the situation behind recidivism around the country. Keywords: Recidivism, Data Collection, Performance Measures, Deterrence.
