HOW DIFFERENT STYLES OF LEADERSHIP CORRESPOND TO COACHING SPORTS
Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to investigate how individual leadership styles affect coaching in the world of sports. The four leadership styles investigated in this essay are transformational, democratic, autocratic, and laissez-faire. Each of the styles has their own characteristics that are discussed that determine the efficiency of the leadership style in coaching. No particular leadership style is considered the best because each one has different factors to deal with. Every leadership style will only be effective for certain ages, races, and sports.
