Foster Care and The Need for Change
Abstract
Abstract: My topic is going to cover current policies and laws that need to be changed in the Kentucky Foster system. It will also show how the overall child’s wellbeing will benefit from these changes.
Children in the Kentucky Foster Care System can positively benefit from changes of policies and laws regarding termination of parental rights time frames, foster parent’s rights, social worker policies and the requirements for foster/adoptive parents to qualify to do such. Issues with foster parents being able to be included in case plans, foster children’s time in care, and lack of social workers working together all play a role in each child’s life.
