Understanding and bridging the gap of communication in the Workplace and Daily life.

Abstract

Communication in the workplace and in daily life is essential. Understanding and being able to communicate with individuals can be the success or downfall of your organization. Bridging the gap in communication allows for a flow of information using diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and is one of the ways leaders can help conversations transition from a brave space to a safe place. The skills and traits discussed in this paper will ensure conversations are a positive experience for both the sender and receiver. A plethora of aspects concerning communication are discussed both, verbal and nonverbal communication as well as emotions that individuals encounter through social exchanges. The aspects of communication influence the possible outcome of conversations. Also, competence should be a watchword for anyone attempting to communicate effectively, it is both individuals’ responsibilities to communicate with each other and ensure as the receiver you are allowing information to get through your barriers. In business, as you move forward, you may lose sight of what is important at times, but incorporating these communication tactics allows for positive social exchange.
