Transformational Leadership: The Change the Workplace Needs to Thrive
Abstract
An employee’s working environment greatly impacts overall well-being, both mentally and physically, and the longevity of the employee’s commitment to the organization. Satisfied employees are retainable and strive to work hard, support, and enhance productivity in the workplace. Leadership styles directly influence the satisfaction, functionality, and culture of the work environment. Without support, employees suffer. It is essential that positive leadership is the focus, and that areas of weakness are transformed. Transformational leadership is how leaders are successful in accomplishing this goal. Transformational leadership is more than a leadership style. It is a way of changing or transforming the relationship between leaders and employees to establish success. There is a substantial amount of research regarding transformational leadership and the benefits of implementing and developing these leadership qualities. Research aims to show the interconnection found within transformational leadership and the benefits it brings to the workplace. Project success, employee mindfulness, and psychological well-being are all considerably impacted by transformational leadership. The benefits of transformational leadership are endless and can bring forth significant positive change for leaders and employees alike.
