Building a Culture of Safety Leadership in the Construction Industry
Abstract
The construction industry holds the key to the United States economy. With that said, construction work is one of the most dangerous industries to work in. Construction workers are exposed to different hazards every day, such as falls and changing working conditions. Leadership plays a big role in preventing injuries and keeping everyone safe by implementing OSHA regulations, training, and safety programs.
This paper looks into how leadership impacts safety culture in construction. It takes an in-depth look into hazard identification, safety topics, and much more information that is important to know. Leaders who are present and friendly are usually able to build trust and encourage employees to report hazards before an injury can occur. The findings of this paper show just how strong safety leadership can create a positive safety culture.
