Hawk Taylor Baseball Memorabilia
Hawk and the Taylor family accumulated a treasure trove of baseball memorabilia over the years, much of which is held in Pogue Library. Hawk collected many autographs during his time in baseball, including most of his World Series-winning teammates with the 1957 Milwaukee Braves. Other items of interest include the “Green Weenie,” an item used briefly by the Pittsburgh Pirates to curse their opponents and bestow good luck upon their own players, Louisville Slugger souvenir bats, and Hawk’s own jacket for the KC Royals.
