Abstract/Description
Ebenester is an original Gothic novella written in epistolary form using diction that is reminiscent of the time period it takes place in (1880s) without feeling inaccessible to a modern reader. The story is about a girl named Elisa whose parents send her away to an estate in Scotland “to calm her nerves” but while at the estate she feels tormented by spirits which leads her to have a séance that reveals some of her acquaintances are ghosts.
