About This Journal

The Kentucky Literacy Journal is a peer-reviewed publication dedicated to advancing literacy education through research, practice, and critical inquiry. Published in partnership with the Kentucky Reading Association (KRA), the journal serves educators, researchers, and literacy professionals across K–12, postsecondary, and adult education contexts in Kentucky and beyond.

The journal publishes original research, practitioner scholarship, and critical perspectives that examine literacy, literature, and reading from innovative, inclusive, and research-informed viewpoints. Committed to fostering professional dialogue, The Kentucky Literacy Journal also provides space for policy-focused work that explores the intersections of literacy, research, practice, and advocacy.

By amplifying scholarly, practitioner, and community voices, the journal aims to cultivate a vibrant community of literacy professionals and contribute meaningfully to state and national conversations on literacy education.
