Abstract
In this project, data was collected to see if there might be a relationship between people's musical tastes and political stance. There are also questions that then expand on that idea and investigate different topics to see if they might be significantly related. For example, the main question regarding musical tastes asked if the populus had a favorite genre and gave the following choices rap, country, alternative, and rock. Then after collecting the sample, the data was analyzed and compared against the population's answers to their preference of political party. This resulted in a highly significant P-value of 0.000762. The data shows that democrats are more than two times as likely to prefer alternative music and republicans are significantly more likely to prefer country music. The data also uncovered three other statistically significant relationships between political affiliation with gender, the likelihood of expressing emotion through tears, and stance on the legalization of marijuana.
