Abstract/Description
This presentation will include an analysis of ergonomic issues at a manufacturing plant in Western Kentucky. Two members of OSH 663 Applied Workplace Ergonomics visited the site to evaluate potential ergonomic risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders in the upper extremity regions of the workers who have been assigned to work at the “piston tables.” Techniques such as the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment, Strain Index, ACGIH Hand Activity Level, and discomfort surveys were used in the assessment. An overview of the findings along with control recommendations for reducing ergonomic hazards will be presented.
