Greetings among friends
The current pilot study examined greetings that are used between participants and people with whom they frequently associate. Participants were asked what different ways they used to greet those that they knew well (with the given example of “What’s up, bitch?”), and the greetings provided were then separated by the sex of the greeter as well as by what type of greetings were presented: positive (e.g. “Hey, gorgeous”), negative (e.g. “What’s up, slut?”), or neutral (e.g. “Hello!”).
