Abstract/Description

The Battle of Belleau Wood was a World War I battle fought between the American and German armies. The American marines fought bravely in the forest known as Belleau Wood, and because of them, won the battle and defeated the Germans. The battle, while not famous or well known today, was a decisive victory for the Allies against the Germans as it proved the Americans were a formidable force to fight against and it showed the German army beginning to crack.
