Abstract/Description

I have designed a study abroad program focusing on the life and history of William the Conqueror. The journey will route us onto a Paris runway where we will board a train to William’s birthplace in Falaise, France. We will then travel through Caen, France, crossing the English Channel to Hastings, England and ending in London where William was crowned the King of England. This two-week excursion will explore castles, museums, and monuments about William the Conqueror who was the first Norman monarch of England. As a tourist or as a college student studying abroad, the educational benefits of exploring a foreign land opens up endless opportunities. For example, traveling abroad can create personal growth, and create new friendships with people all over the world. Join me on this excursion into the past by following in the footsteps of William the Conqueror through his homeland of France and his conquered territory of England.
