Abstract/Description

An overview of LBL around Golden Pond area, focusing on features such as walking trails, paved roads, unpaved roads, points of interest and water features was achieved using a Geographic Information System (GIS). The walking trails were measured so an estimated length of walking distance could be used. Unpaved roads were also measured for anybody who would be interested in cycling, or using and off-road vehicle (ORV). Water features such as ponds, streams, and the main lakes were marked and if fishing or boating would be allowed it was represented with a special symbol. Points of interest such as walking destinations, Golden Pond Observatory, Elk and Bison range, and more were also marked on the map.
