Abstract/Description

This is an overview of available studies and knowledge regarding thermal ecology of gallinaceous birds in the Southern Great Plains region of the United States. Thermal constraints are becoming a more prevalent issue as average temperatures increase over time, and the populations of these birds struggle to persist. The goals of this research are to determine where knowledge is lacking within the literature and to establish a unified paradigm of galliforms' thermal ecology to effectively inform wildlife managers.
