Abstract/Description
On January 23, 2018, Western Kentucky experienced a shooting at a local high school where my younger sister attends. The feeling of not knowing for an hour whether I lost my sister was horrifying and sickening. I researched to see if there was any way to improve security to prevent future events happening like this in the future. After reading through various research articles, I discovered that there is not very much research out there, and there needs to be more research in this area as it becomes a growing concern in our society. Research has only discovered that training and a positive workplace to prove to be effective.
