Abstract/Description

An ergonomic analysis of a telecommunications equipment fabrication facility located in Western Kentucky was performed. The facility was evaluated to determine the potential for possible musculoskeletal injuries that may be accumulated while carrying out the job tasks of welding, operation of a forklift, and fabricating angles into steel materials. To carry out this analysis, the evaluators utilized the following equipment and techniques: video camera, dynamometer, goniometer, tape measure, interview questions, Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) and Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), and other analysis tools. Results of these analyses as well as routes of action to take in order to mitigate these musculoskeletal risks will be presented.
