Abstract/Description

This project, also known as the Home Fire Safety Campaign, is to promote fire safety among seniors in Calloway County. We began our project under the assumption that senior citizens are at a high risk for fire destruction in their homes. This project studies how many seniors at the Murray Calloway County Senior Citizen Center are aware of the best practices in fire alarm safety. During the campaign, alarms are delivered free of charge through the American Red Cross Association, and our group works to install the alarms in seniors’ homes and provide fire safety information. The ultimate goal is to prepare seniors in case of a home fire so that they feel safer in the community.
