Abstract/Description

There is a commonly known practice today of bathing newborns shortly after their birth. However, little research has shown that is beneficial to the newborn. So, why continue this procedure if it is not proven to be beneficial to the newborn's health? With implementation of policies and procedures of formally delaying the newborn bath for at least six hours has been medically proven to benefit the newborn and the mother.
