Abstract/Description

Stress in nursing leads to many undesirable outcomes, such as medication errors, unhealthy coping habits, nurse burnout, decrease in job satisfaction, and high turnover rates. The purpose of this research is to identify measures that will promote healthy coping mechanisms for stress related to nursing and emotional trauma. The method suggested by this study is a rapid response protocol called Code Lavender. Six articles investigated the causes of stress and effective ways to manage and/ or decrease the amount of stress.
