Abstract/Description

Precision medicine is an initiative focused on improving patient outcomes by creating an algorithm of DNA codes and their perspective medication or cancer treatment options using genetic information. The goal of this initiative is to improve client outcomes and the efficacy of medical treatments. As a new resource, precision medicine is not yet wide spread and can be difficult to utilize in rural hospitals; however, it is quickly becoming more accessible. The Precision Medicine Initiative will need nurses to educate, gather data, conduct research, and implement the new findings in their practice.
