Nurse Bedside Shift Reporting
Abstract:
Most of the current literary research indicates that there is support for Nurse Bedside Shift Reporting (NBSR), which is gaining popularity among United States hospitals. Among many reasons cited for this popularity is an increase in patient safety (Groves et al., 2016). It also creates a moment when both outgoing and incoming nurses, patient, and patients support system are all present for the sharing of information and questions. Negative feedback reported include an additional amount of time required, and the possibility of a loss of confidentiality. Overall, the positive outweigh the negative, and it is our belief that the NBSR should be implemented at all US medical facilities.
