Abstract/Description
This project was conducted in order to evaluate the effectiveness and practicality of using alcohol disinfection caps on needleless connectors for a facility not currently using the caps. After reviewing current research, it was found that the alcohol disinfection caps increase compliance for connector disinfection, are as or more effective than the scrubbing method, and are cost-saving due to their role in CLABSI prevention.
