Abstract/Description
Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome is a perplexing and debilitating ocular condition that affects canine patients. The goal of this research is to first investigate breed disposition, etiology, and pathogenesis leading to the occurrence of the disease. The complexity of this disease paired with the absence of research regarding the disease process leads to various diagnostic techniques, and treatment options to improve the patient's quality of life, as well as symptoms presented and observed upon physical exam performed by a veterinarian. This research is aimed at gaining perspective from veterinarians who have had patients present with this ophthalmic disease by focusing on the primary reason for the veterinary visit, clinical symptoms the veterinarian noted upon exam as well as their deductive reasoning leading to the course of diagnostics and the development of their treatment plan.
