Abstract/Description
After discussing with a facility the concerns about intensive outpatient therapy (IOP), it was found there was a lack of attendance to such programs. The facility did not have an in-house program and commonly referred patients out to community resources. After reviewing the community resources and methods I sermized that there could be a solution to this issue. Utilizing video technology during outpatient therapy would benefit patients by providing a more accessible and calming environment for recovery. It would alleviate the burdens of transportation, finding childcare, and provide a level of comfort indicative of one’s own home.
