Statistics is a widely used mathematical discipline, taught across several majors from computer science, to mathematics, to psychology. Statistical software is crucial to students' understanding of statistics. This presentation will cover three software commonly taught in universities. Specifically, it will cover a survey of students' preference and proficiency with these software, and how it relates to considerations in choosing a software to guide a statistics course and in developing beginner-friendly statistical software.
