Abstract/Description
-
Forever Ago a Girl is a hybrid work of poetry and creative nonfiction that explores the ideas of feminism through childhood stories and generational trauma. It uses poetic clippings from the Trigg County Scrapbook created in the late 1800s to draw attention to similarities of what it means to be a girl growing up hundreds of years ago and now in recent generations. It explores themes of feminism, trauma, anxiety, addiction, and feminine role models growing up and its effect on identity.
