Abstract
This paper explores the methods and history of energy production in the United States. Fossil fuels have been used for decades as the main source of energy for the United States. Understanding the basic processes and the history of energy in the United States will encourage needed changes for the future. With the continuous use of nonrenewable resources, they will continue to deplete until the earth can no longer support the gathering and use of them. With the integration of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power, the limited supply of fossil fuels can be extended for decades to come.
