From Institutions to Inclusion: The History of Special Education
Abstract
This study explores the history of how individuals with disabilities were treated and how those rights have progressed throughout the years. There have been numerous court cases, along with policies that now protect individuals with disabilities. From the 1800s until present time, it will show how society has changed and now view those with disabilities. This paper will show how individuals with disabilities are now integrated into general education schools and even classrooms.
