The American Educational System: Where do we go from here?
Abstract
The research done has been investigating what the American educational system can do to improve a declining system and prevent further harm. This research has come from different systems worldwide, including Germany, the United Kingdom, and South Korea. Research from all three countries' educational systems revealed many beneficial factors dispensed from them. The South Korean educational system’s takeaways include better transportation to school, producing a later start time for school, and increased government funding for public schools. Germany’s educational system key takeaway is free college. The United Kingdom’s main takeaways from their system include studying specific courses in high school related to college, producing a more effective admissions process, and executing free childcare. Given the importance of this topic, more research is needed to better understand what practices the American educational system can take away from different educational systems worldwide, in addition to the ones presented. Further research along with the research found thus far, can help solve the issue of what the American educational system can do to uplift a failing system.
